Springtime--especially one spent on Florida's sunny West Coast--is guaranteed to be a special experience. In today's blog, we will be sharing five of our favorite ways to celebrate the season in the heart of Florida's cultural capital.
Find new sands to explore
We all have "our" beach--the go-to stretch of sand that we call home every weekend. But this spring, why not explore your city and get to know more of Sarasota's famous beaches?
While so much of Florida's West Coast is noted for beautiful white sand, Siesta Key (an offshore barrier island) is among the most famous of these. Another great option is Longboat Key, the slender strip of shoreline that extends beyond the West Coast. It's perfect for catching a scenic sunset or strolling along the pristine blue waters.
Exploring beaches that you're not completely familiar with can help you feel like you're on vacation--even if you're just minutes from home!
Take the trolley
The Sarasota Trolley is the perfect way for your large group to get around town in style (and enjoy the breeze of an open-air travel experience!). See the scenic vistas of Sarasota from your comfy seat and make memories for your family reunion or team event.
Explore Myakka River State Park
Beaches are probably Sarasota's most well-known natural features--but head a bit inland, and you'll feel immersed in a tropical jungle-style retreat. Myakka River State Park is the perfect spot for those looking to get back to nature--you can take your boat out for a spin on the river or even enjoy a safari style tram tour of the wilderness!
Soak up Sarasota's culture
Sarasota is as rich in cultural experiences as it is natural ones. Take a day to visit a local attraction like Art Center Sarasota, or stroll throughout the city's scenic downtown for shopping and a delicious meal.
Enjoy your at-home oasis
In Sarasota, you don't have to go very far to soak up the sun and enjoy a resort-style experience--in fact, you're probably only feet away from one right now! You can turn your backyard and pool area into a space you love spending time in--if it's not there yet, features like a pool enclosure or patio cover will be sure to simplify your time in the sun and turn a day in the pool into a staycation of itself.
